Kate Brown is a visual artist, primarily focused in acrylic painting. Though born and raised in the Midwest, she finds the vast and complex world too alluring not to explore. Rarely, if ever, does she turn down an opportunity to glimpse a new horizon, hike across a country, or abandon her daily routine in favor of a vague adventure in a far-flung locale.
Translating her spontaneity and ongoing field study of our surreal natural world, she creates color-soaked scenes of flora and fauna from the whirlpools of her imagination. She stylistically combines sharp details with loose fantastical ideas that playfully tell stories of exploration and self-discovery.
